Moral Education and Botswana Vision 2016

Moral Education has for so long been limited to classroom as one of those subjects that students have to learn to help them become better people in a society. However upon review an article on Botswana Vision 2016 by Univiversity of Botswana school of graduates its apparent that Moral Education in Botswana has more to it than just a mere subject. Botswana advocates for a   " A Moral and Tolerant Nation" Morality and Deterioration of National Values: cultivate and preserve national moral and cultural values in the face of rapid social change. The article notes, "Give Me"' Attitude: creativity and effort of ordinary people with the vitality of the private sector provide the vital engine for development and growth. Thus Morality is essential for growth and deveopment. Tolerance: collective identity based upon shared values and a respect for ethnic or cultural differences; or differing views or religious beliefs.

In agreement with the VISION 2016 pillar, Morality is essential for the growth and development of Botswana. However, it is of paramount importance to note that we cannot only talk of "A moral and Tolerant Nation" without Moral Education.  Moral Educan should be a significant subject for all; it go beyond the classroom and  the school setting as all citizens need to be Moral and Tolerant for  Botswana to attain Vision 2016. In short Moral Education should reach all Batswana at different levels and places
